NEW FOR 2019: Trainees and junior faculty (within 3 years of completing training) were eligible to apply for The Gefter-Hatabu Young Investigator Award.
Three finalists were selected from the eligible abstract submissions. The finalists will give an oral and poster presentation at IWPFI on Friday October 18, 2019. The Winner will announced on Saturday October 19, 2019.
The inaugural meeting of the IWPFI was held in Philadelphia in 2002 to address emerging clinical needs for improved diagnosis and assessment of various lung diseases through the development of novel image based approaches. Subsequent meetings were held in Awaji Island (twice), Japan; Heidelberg, Germany; Boston, USA; Madison, USA; Edinburgh, Scotland; and Seoul, Korea. The IWPFI brings together experts from across many disciplines who study lung disease and work to develop new imaging tools and applications to better understand the structure and function of the lungs.
Goals of the 9th IWPFI:
- To review the current understanding of the pathophysiology and treatment options for chest diseases
- To understand current pulmonary functional imaging techniques and interpretation
- To explore emerging imaging methods for the evaluation of chest diseases
The program will be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana
