The inaugural meeting of the IWPFI was held in Philadelphia in 2002 to address emerging clinical needs for improved diagnosis and assessment of various lung diseases through the development of novel image based approaches. Subsequent meetings were held in Awaji Island (twice), Japan; Heidelberg, Germany; Boston, USA; Madison, USA; Edinburgh, Scotland; and Seoul, Korea. The IWPFI brings together experts from across many disciplines who study lung disease and work to develop new imaging tools and applications to better understand the structure and function of the lungs.

Goals of the 9th IWPFI:

  • To review the current understanding of the pathophysiology and treatment options for chest diseases
  • To understand current pulmonary functional imaging techniques and interpretation
  • To explore emerging imaging methods for the evaluation of chest diseases

The program will be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana

Sleeping rooms are available at the nearby Hampton Inn & Suites New Orleans, 1201 Convention Center Blvd.
